Showstopper Shanaya Kapoor walked the ramp in a stunning trendsetting ensemble with her hair styled using Dyson Hair Care machines.
Dyson made a grand debut with designer Arpita Mehta’s collection when the designer took the audience on a grand summer fashion odyssey at Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI. Professional hairstylist Adhuna showcased the Dyson range that offered stylists the versatility, control and agility they need to make models runway ready. Celebrity Shanaya Kapoor strutted the ramp in a riveting silhouette and a beachy wave hairstyle that elevated her showstopping look.
Using its pioneering hair care tools, Dyson met the demands of high-pressure professional styling environments and ensured each model felt their most confident self as they walk down the runway in Arpita Mehta’s travel-inspired showcase. Equipped with Dyson styling technology – featuring a range of precise temperature settings, combined with engineered attachments, we saw effortless hairstyles ranging from Soft waves, beach curls, curly blowouts and ponytails complementing Arpita Mehta’s collection and truly summarizing everyone’s dream vacation wardrobe.

Dyson as a hair care brand has always fostered effortless hair styling which aligns perfectly with the vision of my collection and the aesthetic, I intended to create for the show at Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI.”

But, during my beach-cations, I always find it difficult to create easy and effortless hairstyles that complement my vacation looks. Given the current beauty trends, the spring-summer looks are all about celebrating the ‘natural hair’ which was at the heart of styling for Adhuna and she said, “The looks for today’s show were created while embracing the natural texture and form of the model’s hair. Keeping Arpita Mehta’s travel-inspired theme in mind, we defined the effortless, chic hairstyles that enhance the entire look. As a stylist, I have to work with diverse groups of models with different hair types and Dyson haircare machines have always been my preferred tools for styling fast, and with a range of attachments to achieve different styles. I loved creating this season’s Spring/Summer looks for the Dyson X Arpita Mehta show at Lakmé Fashion Week X FDCI using the Dyson Professional range that did not just sway the runway today but can also be recreated at home using the Dyson AirwrapTM Multi- styler”.
Arpita’s collection was what style mavens would love to flaunt during their holiday sojourns this year when they enjoy the thrill of jet setting as well as dressing up. Her designing skills came to the forefront when floral and geometric prints exploded in pops of bright colours for the blooming blossoms and striking solids. The colours matched the mood of the line when an exciting mix of orange, acid yellow, sage green and coconut appeared in perfect harmony with pastel coconut cream, dust pink, and juicy mango.
Embellishments have always held pride of place for Arpita’s ensembles. Elevating the summer look onto another plane, the sequins dazzled, while the mirror drop tassels, introduced sequin this season, added an edgy touch.
To set the mood of a holiday the ramp was tone-on-tone in mango that lit up the space. The show was for the senses with the nostalgia of a summer breeze in citrus fragrance and upbeat music – like a holiday sundowner. The silhouettes were easy, breezy, and stylish, with draped skirts, corset top, sequined kaftans, sequined pant-suit and classic ruffle sarees. The season’s hot sellers, the sequined kaftans, which is an instant glam holiday look. Jackets with bralettes and draped skirts as well as an unconventional sari version gave the holiday wardrobe a happy, fun, filled look.
The addition of stretch fabrics ensured that the wide array of apparel could move seamlessly from cool, morning wear options to afternoon brunches or lunches, then onto evening cocktail hours and then down the midnight glamour route.
The showstopper, actor Shanaya Kapoor, epitomised the grace and confidence of this flirtatious vibe in a mirror and sequined hand-embroidered classic saree with a tube blouse. This modern, classic youthful look was designed to be classy while keeping a sexy and clean holiday mood in mind.
