Hip-Hop Star Premz New EP ”Reign of The Raja” is an EPIC BOP!
Rap. Culturally iconic in its own right, tactfully spreading through different cultures and languages. In this day and age there’s no shortage of hip-hop stars. Though there are a few that come around changing the dynamics of a genre, blending cultures and sounds to create something new and exclusive. One such artist is Premz, coming from humble beginnings, he has managed to create a name for himself in the British Asian Music Scene.
Premz has made a smooth transition from, an up and coming artist to a rising star. With the support of big names in the industry like Bobby Friction and Hard Kaur,he clearly has the talent to walk the walk. Premz versatility can be seen throughout his work. Songs like Sun Zarafeaturing TaZzz and Jalsa really bring a fresh new fusion to the scene. Reign of the Raja isn’t just a compilation of songs it’s a work of art, carefully crafted with a unique and talented team.
I had the opportunity to review Reign of the Raja, each and every song was impressive in its own right! Tracks like Buss Down and Tell Me About It, clearly show Premz vocal versatility and lyrical ability, coupled with Ayo Beats created a master piece!
Reign of The Raja, can challenge any hip hop artist, the sampling of classic Bollywood Tracks like Dil Toh Pagal Hain, Mein Shayar You Nahi and Paan Banaras Wala help us gain insight to what Premz is trying to portray.
Speaking to Premz and having the opportunity to listen to his charming accent, I gained insight in to what Reign of the Raja is designed to perceive.
An Asian man’s perspective of growing up in London. The the multiculturalism ever so present in his music is stunningly portrayed. The Afro Swing is prominent and upbeat, and the South Asian melodies subtly shining through creating a harmonious mix of cultures. Premz stays true to his Indian roots, a strong representation of his father who is a former musician that focused on Hindi music. Undoubtedly Premz shows his love for Bollywood and being Desi throughout the record. The cover art is a beautiful depiction of Indian culture and a fitting contrast to the Afro Swing.
Premz is a talented artist and a force to be reckoned with, undoubtedly talented. A London lad staying true to his roots, Reign of the Raja is a monumental piece of work reflecting harmonious multiculturalism!
