Kriti expressed concern over the way Nakul repeatedly questioned Aman about his sexual identity, encouraged him to explore it and made personal remarks, calling attention to the importance of respecting individual boundaries.

The conversation began when Aman spoke about Mumbai being a safe city, particularly for women, and discussed how people from different communities are accepted there. When Aman mentioned that he had gay friends, Nakul asked him, “Kaise lagte hai terko Gays?” Aman responded casually, saying that he had friends who were gay and that he had no issue with them.

However, the conversation soon became personal when Nakul asked Aman, “Are you into them or straight?” Aman clearly replied, “Into them nahi hu bhai, straight hu.” Despite the answer, Nakul continued by suggesting that Aman should try it and explore. Aman firmly declined, saying, “Nahi bilkul bhi nahi,” before asking Nakul whether he had tried it himself.

Nakul then responded, “Mai to karunga, badhiya lagta hai tu mujhe bhi.” Aman appeared to anticipate where the conversation was heading and remarked, “Nahi mujhe lag raha tha yahi jayegi baat par nahi.” The exchange continued when Nakul asked Aman a personal question about how he slept at night. Maintaining his composure, Aman replied, “Pata nahi aaj notice karunga.”

The conversation has raised concerns about personal boundaries, particularly because Aman had already clearly expressed his identity and answered Nakul’s questions. While discussions around sexuality should be approached with openness and understanding, repeatedly questioning someone about their identity after they have answered can make the interaction uncomfortable and inappropriate.

Speaking in support of Aman, Kriti Verma said, “What Nakul said to Aman Gandhi was not something that could simply be brushed aside as harmless fun. The way he repeatedly questioned Aman about his sexual identity, suggested that he should explore it, and even made personal remarks crossed a line. It came across as an attempt to provoke Aman and put him in an uncomfortable position, while Aman handled the entire conversation with remarkable calmness and dignity. He neither lost his temper nor allowed himself to be dragged into an unnecessary argument. The biggest concern is the double standard in how such situations are treated. If a woman were repeatedly questioned about her sexuality or had someone make such personal remarks to her, it could become a major issue during Weekend Ka Vaar. But when a man is put in a similar position, people may be far more willing to dismiss it as a joke. Respect for personal identity and boundaries should not depend on someone’s gender. Aman deserves credit for maintaining his composure, but that does not make the conversation or the intent behind those remarks any less concerning.”

Kriti’s statement highlights an important question about the way personal boundaries are perceived when men face uncomfortable situations. Her point is that the same standards of dignity and respect should apply to everyone, regardless of gender. A person’s sexuality is personal, and no one should feel pressured to discuss or defend their identity simply because someone else insists on asking questions.

Aman’s response throughout the exchange stood out for its calmness. Even when the conversation became increasingly personal, he did not lose his temper or turn it into a heated confrontation. His decision to remain composed, however, should not mean that the nature of the exchange is overlooked.

Towards the end of the episode, Qazi Touqeer also raised concerns about the conversation, expressing that he found it inappropriate and felt the need to address the matter. His reaction further brought attention to the discomfort surrounding the exchange.

The incident has once again highlighted why conversations about identity require sensitivity, mutual respect and an understanding of personal boundaries. While people may have different perspectives, repeatedly questioning someone about their sexuality after they have clearly answered is a matter that deserves serious consideration rather than being automatically dismissed as a joke. Kriti’s support reinforces the importance of respecting personal identity irrespective of gender, while Aman deserves credit for maintaining his dignity and composure throughout the conversation.
