Salman Khan used the “Weekend Ka Vaar” episode of Bigg Boss 20 to speak strongly against trolling, body-shaming, and inappropriate paparazzi pictures of women celebrities.
During the episode, Salman defended his ex-girlfriend Katrina Kaif after she was reportedly trolled online over her postpartum weight gain.
Referring to pregnancy and motherhood, he said that gaining weight after pregnancy is normal. He added that Katrina would return to work when she felt ready and that she should be able to spend time with her family.
After the video went viral, many social media users praised Salman. Some called him “Pookie,” a Gen Z term used as an affectionate compliment. Others described him as a “green flag” for speaking against online trolling.
Salman also addressed comments about his own age. He said that he is 60 and that people cannot expect him to look the same as he did in Maine Pyar Kiya. He said that he knows people troll him online but chooses not to react.
In a dramatic moment, Salman removed his shirt and hat, wiped off his makeup on camera, and challenged trolls to make fun of him. He also spoke against trolling directed at his brother Sohail Khan and other celebrities, asking people to look at themselves before making fun of others.
The actor also criticised paparazzi for taking inappropriate pictures of actresses, especially from behind or focusing on their bodies. He said that women do not like such photographs and questioned why such images are taken and published.
Salman’s comments sparked a wider online discussion about body-shaming, privacy, celebrity trolling, and the way women are photographed in public.
Salman and Katrina reportedly dated in the mid-2000s. Katrina later married Vicky Kaushal in 2021. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in November last year.
