At a time when social media numbers often define success, actress Urvashi Upadhyay believes that true artistry cannot be measured by likes, comments, or applause.
The actress recently reflected on her journey as a performer, sharing that her passion for acting was rooted in childhood and has always been driven by an inner calling rather than external validation.
Recalling one of her earliest memories on stage, Urvashi revealed that she was just four years old when she played Sita Mata in a Ram Leela. The experience, she says, became the foundation of her love for performing and left an impact that continues to shape her as an artiste today.
Opening up about her philosophy towards acting, Urvashi says, “Real talent comes from within, not from likes or applause. Appreciation is always wonderful, but it shouldn’t become the reason you pursue your passion. An artist’s biggest strength is the love they have for their craft.”
She further shared that while today’s generation has access to countless platforms and instant recognition through social media, things were very different when she was growing up. “There weren’t many sources of inspiration back then. But I believe true artists are born with their passion. They don’t wait for validation to believe in themselves,” she added.
