Actor Amal Sehrawat believes that while social media has become an integral part of an actor’s career, it should never overshadow an artist’s craft. Stressing the importance of authenticity, the actor says he prefers sharing only what genuinely reflects who he is.
Talking about navigating the pressures of social media, Amal says,
“I think authenticity is about being honest with yourself first. Social media can sometimes create pressure to present a perfect version of your life, but I believe people connect more with what feels real. You don’t have to share everything, but whatever you do share should come from a genuine place.”
He adds that maintaining healthy boundaries has helped him stay grounded.
“For me, it’s about setting boundaries. I choose what parts of my life I’m comfortable sharing and what I prefer to keep private. That balance helps me stay grounded and not feel overwhelmed by expectations. At the same time, I understand that being in the public eye comes with a certain responsibility, so I try to be mindful of how I present myself.”
The actor also believes social media should complement an actor’s journey rather than define it.
“I also think it’s important not to let social media define your identity as an actor. Your work, your craft, and your growth matter more than how you’re perceived online. Social media is just one aspect of the journey, not the whole story.”
Sharing what truly creates a lasting impression in the entertainment industry, Amal says looks alone can only take someone so far.
“I believe first impressions are shaped by a combination of confidence, professionalism, and authenticity. While appearance can catch someone’s attention initially, it’s your attitude and how you carry yourself that truly leave a lasting impact.”
He elaborates,
“Confidence plays a big role—not arrogance, but a quiet self-assurance that shows you believe in your abilities. When you walk into a room prepared and present, people notice. At the same time, professionalism is essential. Being punctual, respectful, and easy to work with speaks volumes about your character and reliability.”
According to him, personality is equally important in building lasting relationships.
“Being genuine, approachable, and positive helps create meaningful connections. People tend to remember how you made them feel, not just what you said or did.”
Ending on a thoughtful note, Amal says,
“Ultimately, it’s about balance. When you combine confidence with humility, professionalism with warmth, and authenticity with awareness, you create an impression that lasts beyond that first meeting.”
Speaking about performers he admires, Amal names acclaimed Hollywood actor Viola Davis as someone with extraordinary screen presence.
