Prachi Singh, who plays Manjuri (Munni) in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2, understands the nature of the industry she is working in. She feels being authentic is one way to deal with the pressure and be at peace.

She said,

“The job is very demanding, and how you look after your mental health and how you think about it is very important. You have to take a lot of care because here you need a lot of patience. And I feel that if you stay connected to your family, if you stay connected to your roots and you don’t forget them, then you are mentally at peace. Be yourself.”

“And it’s very important to stay grounded in this industry, which is also a little difficult. But I would say people should stay grounded,” she added.

For her, emotional scenes are a little more difficult than performing other scenes. She said,

“This is how I prepare myself. You have to feel that whatever is happening is happening to you. I think that maybe this is happening to me, and if it happened to me, how would I react? So maybe when you start feeling that thing, then you are able to show it properly on screen.”

Looking ahead, Prachi is hoping to play different characters. She said,

“I would want that in the future; whatever shows I get and however many shows I do, I play different types of characters in all of them. They should be completely opposite to each other so that I can show the versatility in me. I would also want to get a very challenging role so that I can challenge myself. I am open to anything different that comes my way.”

Working alongside a cast of seasoned actors on the sets of what she calls Saas 2 has also been an education in itself. She said,

“The set of Saas 2 is super fun. At the same time, when you are working with such senior actors, you get to learn a lot.”

She has been a fan of TV since childhood. She said,

“I was completely crazy about TV. There were so many serials that I watched a lot in my childhood. One of my favorite shows was Pratigya. At that time, whatever used to come on TV, I watched it. Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, all of those. In my childhood, I mostly watched TV serials. Then I used to watch them and think, ‘Wow, I can do this too’ I have always been crazy about TV.”

For the unversed, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 is not her TV debut, and she landed the role through an audition.

“It was just a random audition. They said, ‘Send the audition urgently.’ We need it.’ They gave me the character brief, and I gave the audition. After 10 to 15 days, I got a call saying, ‘You are shortlisted.’ Then I got selected for this role,” Prachi ended.
