The upcoming episode of India’s Best Dancer Season 5 on Sony Entertainment Television, celebrating India Wala Dance, will serve up a prominent moment as celebrated actors Jaaved Jaaferi and Madhuri Dixit reunite to recreate their iconic song “Gabbar Singh Yeh Keh Kar Gaya” from the 1991 film 100 Days, more than three decades after its release.
Reflecting on her journey and her presence on the show, Madhuri Dixit shared,
“Dance isn’t just a part of my career; it is where I have truly lived my life, expressed my joy, and felt most alive. Over the years, I have been blessed with an audience whose unconditional love keeps me going, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who looks up to me and supports everything I do. That is why coming to India’s Best Dancer to promote our upcoming Netflix film Maa Behen is an absolute pleasure because the movie brings something entirely fresh and entertaining for families across the country. Just like Maa Behen celebrates the beautiful, raw bond of relationships, the contestants here are celebrating the heart of our culture through the India Wala Dance theme. It’s a beautiful synergy of storytelling and rhythm, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience our movie. The warm welcome I received here felt incredibly special and watching the contestants perform beautifully to my own songs and I was completely overwhelmed to see it. Sharing this space with my gorgeous Karisma, the brilliant Jaaved, and the masters Terence and Geeta makes it feel like a special get-together.”
The moment unfolds when host Harsh Limbachiyaa requests the duo to revisit the popular song and perform the same. Responding to the request with her trademark warmth, Madhuri agrees and says,
“Main aur Jaaved ji karenge, but saare contestants bhi karenge humare saath.”
What followed next is a fun-filled and energetic performance as Madhuri Dixit, Jaaved Jaaferi, and the contestants come together to recreate the iconic track, taking everyone back to the golden gem of Bollywood.
Following the performance, sharing an amusing back story of the song, Jaaved said,
“Ye i think do rato mai kiya tha Chinni prakash sir ne choreograph kiy tha, and uss vakt ye kuch do teen shifte karti thi to rehearsal ka time to hot nahi tha, mai to naya naya tha to maine kaha sir rehearsal to kaha vo but jo set pe kiya vo result to dikhta hai, she is amazing aur unko rehearsal ki bohot kam zarurat hai, i know because maine do gaane kiye hai inke sath, without rehearsal at all the way she performed was amazing.”
Later Madhuri added,
“Uss vakt ke liye bohot alag film thi because like mystery thriller aur bohot se log ahi jo aaj bhi mujhse kehete hain that was the first time I got so scared while watching a movie kyuki ismai sabhi characters itne acche se written ki pata nahi chalta tha who is the murderer aur there were a lot of scenes that were amazing aur ek aur gaana tha humara le le dil de de dil, vo karte hue bohot maza aaya tha.”
Jaaved then responded,
“Obviously this was more of a fun song.” Madhuri later agreed saying, “This was more like a mood, fun song dancy, dancy tha gaana.”
Terence Lewis, adding to the conversation, revealed a fun fact about the movie 100 Days,
“Ek trivia aur hai ye film actually 8 core mai bani thi aur 77 core ka business kiya tha. aur vo uss daur ke liye bohot hi unexpected film thi.”
Packed with nostalgic stories, entertainment, and spectacular performances, the episode promises to be a delightful watch for viewers and fans.
