Gaurav Khanna stepped into the Bigg Boss 19 house more than three months ago. Entering with the tag of being a ‘green flag’ and known for his many roles on television across two decades, is now at the end of the journey, and one can’t help but be left in awe!
Right from week one, Gaurav Khanna began showcasing his smart and strategic abilities to navigate his way through daily events. His leadership and undisputed aura left many housemates evidently worried about the threat he poses. As the initial weeks went by, he was called out simply for being a softer voice behind the scenes, and host Salman Khan did this based on the immense potential he has been showing. When the right time came, as the host said it himself, Gaurav began to ‘hit the ball out of the park.’
I always thought of those early weeks as how even the greatest of batsmen and women test out the pitch with early deliveries and gauge how the pitch and ball behave before attempting to hit those sixes. So, it’s just a strategy, doesn’t mean you’re a bad cricketer, and the same is applied here!
After this, which was still early on the show, there was no looking back for him. He became a voice of leadership, strength, and lots of sensibility too. His sincere performances in tasks also won a lot of admiration for him. Away from the drama, Gaurav had honored his bonds with the positive group of the season. His relationship with Pranit More, Abhishek Bajaj, Ashnoor Kaur, and Awez Darbar, were also nice to watch as they each were unique and beautiful in their own ways.
Personal attacks were also made, such as on his work and the medium of television, as well as on him respecting his wife’s choice of not having a child so far. Gaurav bravely faced and overcame these, with viewers also getting to see a fiery side to him. Despite being called ‘fake’ and ‘always acting’ by his critics and fellow housemates, he has become a symbol of how good people exist in society too, and we should not shame or dismiss them just because they are good, and because grey-shaded or bad people are the trendy or more common type of people we interact with.
Gaurav Khanna has redefined the show by proving that one can still make their voice heard and presence felt without the aggressive approach, without any bad language, and without personal attacks. This is a rare quality, which has hardly been seen in recent memory of the show.
Families have begun watching the show again because of this reason, as there was someone who sets a good example. After all, Bigg Boss is a show which mirrors life…
Gaurav Khanna has ticked every box of a worthy Bigg Boss winner, and his journey leaves many emotional, and he now holds a permanent place in hearts of viewers across the globe. As Bigg Boss said, Gaurav chose the harder path, to stay true to himself and not resort to gimmicks, and with this he managed to carve a path which many now look up to!
