Speaking of her plans Ishita says,
“Last year, I was shooting on Diwali and couldn’t be with my family,” Ishita shared. “So this time, I applied for leave well in advance—and thankfully, my producers approved it! I’m going home for a day, and I can’t wait to eat all the delicious food my mum makes, especially the Diwali sweets. I’ll be celebrating with my sisters, brothers, Papa, Mummy, Chacha, Chachi… everyone. It’s been a while since I’ve gone home, and it feels wholesome and happy.”
Ishita is finding time to celebrate the holidays even though she has a lot of shooting to do.
“I recently managed to clean my house and light a few diyas. After pack-up today, I’ll rush home to make rangoli and decorate. I’m also meeting a close friend—it’s all about catching up and celebrating love.”
For Ishita, Diwali is steeped in tradition.
“We believe in Goddess Laxmi and do her pooja every year. Even on Dhanteras, there’s a ritual at home. Attending the Diwali pooja is mandatory—and I’m really looking forward to it.”
She also urges fans to celebrate responsibly.
“Animals suffer a lot because of loud crackers, and the pollution is harmful. Please have a friendly Diwali—eat, drink, meet your friends, and spend time with family. But let’s skip the loud crackers and protect our environment.”
Ishita reminds us that the brightest lights are found in the warmth of home, tradition, and a thoughtful celebration this Diwali.
