Naturally romantic, actress Amandeep Sidhu shares that she cherished every moment of shooting her show Tu Aashiiki Haii, calling it an incredible experience.
“The title itself speaks of love, and it’s very close to my heart because I am extremely romantic by nature—an over-the-top romantic, in fact. Being a Cancerian, I connect deeply with emotions. I’ve lived through every scene, every episode you’ll watch—everything Pumma feels for Noor, I have felt too. On TV, I have never done anything like this before, so the whole ‘falling in love’ arc felt completely new to me. It was like a full-fledged movie romance, and that’s exactly what I wanted to experience at this point in my life. I truly felt it, and it was just amazing,” she says.
Speaking about her character, she explains,
“Noor is a simple, outgoing, outspoken, and mature college-going girl who deeply loves her family. I relate to her in the way she values and respects her family’s opinions. However, unlike Noor, I don’t sacrifice my happiness entirely for my family. I always listen to my heart. Yes, I consider my family’s advice, especially my mother’s, but the final decision is always mine. So in that sense, Noor and I are quite different—I take charge of my life.”
Amandeep says working with actor-producers Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta has been a joy.
“I feel Sargun and Ravi focus more on building strong characters than on the story itself. They believe that if the characters are powerful and relatable, the story will naturally connect with the audience. In our show, it’s about a guy who loves a girl deeply. They’ve made Pumma’s character so strong that everyone will fall in love with him—and because Pumma loves Noor, they will fall in love with Noor too. It’s beautiful,” she says.
Confident about the show’s reception, she adds,
“Audiences today connect with simple, relatable stories. If you give them realistic plots, characters, and situations, they will watch and rewatch them. Personally, I love real, relatable stories. That’s why I enjoy every show by Dreamiyata—they’re always simple yet unique. Even in Badall Pe Paon Hai, which I did earlier, the simplicity and realism of the episodes made people love my character Bani.”
