Mangal Lakshmi is currently deep in office drama, with Adit facing false allegations of harassment from a female employee. The employee, Ananya, is actually acting under Saumya’s instructions, aiming to get Adit fired from Mangal’s company. While Kapil blindly supports Ananya’s one-sided claims, Mangal refuses to act without conducting a thorough investigation. This storyline opens up a deeper conversation about some thought-provoking elements in the track.
When Ananya publicly accused Adit, played by Naman Shaw, at the office, she turned to Mangal and said, “You’re a feminist…”- expecting Mangal’s immediate support. This moment highlighted how the term feminism is often misunderstood and misused. Many women, both in fiction and reality, mistake feminism as a tool for special treatment or superiority, rather than its true purpose: equality.
The way the entire workplace quickly believed Ananya’s story reflected how some individuals exploit the image of vulnerability and are quick to play the victim card. These uncomfortable truths are, unfortunately, faced by innocent men across the world.
Mangal, played by Deepika Singh, however, remains rooted in her values. She chooses to listen to both sides and insists on a fair investigation before making any decisions about Adit’s employment. Even when Kapil threatens to end her brand, Pehla Swaad, if she sides with Adit, Mangal stands firm. She makes it clear—to Kapil and to the office—that she isn’t siding with anyone, but is instead upholding fairness and would do the same for anyone in Adit’s position.
While Mangal Lakshmi continues to champion women’s empowerment on-screen, it also takes a commendable stand for men; first in Kartik’s case, fought by Lakshmi, and now in Adit’s, where Mangal takes a bold stand for justice.
