We’re excited for ‘Zyada Mat Udd,’ and here’s why!

Spread the love

Just a few days ago, there was some ‘udti udti khabar aa rahi hai‘ and luckily for fans, the big reveal happened this weekend when Colors announced their upcoming offering ‘Zyada Mat Udd.’ The show already has people talking, and we will serve a few reasons why this one looks exciting!

Let’s talk about the promo:
In the promo, we get introduced to Goldie Khurana, a party animal who seems to be living quite the life, but things take a turn when he has to prove himself as a fitting future CEO of his father’s airline company. Having to take on his real name, Gopal, he starts to work from the ground bottom to learn the ins and outs of the airline industry. He encounters others, like air hostesses and passengers, with whom he has to interact. Now here’s why this was appealing: we live in a time when we often see people living an ‘ideal life’ like we see on Instagram and celeb vlogs, and this somehow reflects in Goldie’s intro. It will be refreshing to see him return to his identity, learn the hard work and prove himself, making this a relatable story and reminding us that there’s fulfilment in earning something rather than just enjoying the rewards.
The Cast:
We are optimistic about Shehzad Shaikh as Gopal, as he has impressed us before in his many roles. The versatile Helly Shah makes her comeback to television with this show, and we feel there will be interesting chemistry between her character and Gopal. Speaking of comebacks, Aishwarya Sakhuja, known for her fine performances in shows like Yeh Hai Chahatein, will be seen on the show too. The cast will also feature Vivek Mushran, Gaurav Amlani, Vishal Mauka, Bhawsheel Singh Sahni and Kunal Karan Kapoor, all known for their work across television, web and film. It will also feature former Miss International India Rewati Chetri. With a diverse and noteworthy cast, we’re excited to see them elevate the show with their performances.
The airline industry:
Airline companies often make the news, and just recently, there’s been one getting massively trolled in India! It will be quite engaging to see how this industry is presented in popular media and maybe understand the inner workings more.
Comedy and Format:
We need a break away from all the drama, and it has been a while since we got a comedy show on a global Hindi GEC like Colors. So we’re certainly looking forward to the laughs. This is a bi-weekly show, and this will allow it to focus more on the core concepts which lie within the story without letting anything get lost in translation.
We’re seated for this flight and have fastened our seatbelts! Stay tuned for our review to find out if it lands safely or experiences some turbulence (okay, we’ll stop with the puns now!).
Zyada Mat Udd premieres on 8 March 2025, and will air on Colors worldwide!
