Exactly one year ago, we met Mumbai cab driver Sachin, local florist Sailee and their families. It was only a matter of time before they made a place for themselves in our hearts. From redefining a male perspective on television to presenting modern perspectives on marriage and family life, Udne Ki Aasha has done it all in one year.

Telling the story of Sachin and Sailee, who are poles apart and have different outlooks on life, Udne Ki Aasha showed us how we can be more similar to each other than we think. The brilliant display of family dynamics has also been exceptional. The Deshmukh household features four couples, and each has their signature qualities, which leave you in admiration despite their shortcomings. This is one of the reasons the show is loved so much, as it emphasises that it’s not about being perfect but accepting each other and celebrating bonds irrespective of flaws and differences.
The show has done a stellar job portraying the daily life and challenges middle-class families face and how joy can be found in the smallest of reasons. This resonated with the audience no matter where in the world they came from. It spoke to the heart of the common individual who has big dreams but faces the challenges life and even society throws at them.
The performances on the show made the narratives even more compelling. Kanwar Dhillon, Neha Harsora, Radhika Vidyasagar, Sanjay Narvekar, Sneha Raikar, Puru Chibber, Tanvi Shewale, Devashish Chandiramani, Vaishali Arora, Pari Bhatti, Sahil Balani and Shama Deshpande have all contributed to the story translating into the emotion it has become with their performances.
We know we’ve praised Udne Ki Aasha many times before, but as the show celebrates one year, we look back and feel proud that a show finally dared to be different and succeeded with flying colours. The show is currently India’s number one show and is a testament to the audience’s keenness on fresh content which tells THEIR story.
Congratulations to the entire team on hitting the one-year milestone, and we wish you many more milestones and years to come. May the ride never run out of fuel and may it be as fragrant as marigolds! Keep it #EkNumber!
