Dedicating GRAMMYs 2025 nominated songs to Indian Television’s Characters!

Spread the love

The GRAMMY awards is the biggest night of music, where musical excellence is honoured annually in Los Angeles. We thought why not blend this momentous occasion with our uber cool characters from television which charm our screens every day.

We looked at the GRAMMY’s Song of the Year category, which honours excellence in song writing. Here are the nominees in the category and which fictional character we dedicate it to:
Nominee: A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Shaboozey
Dedicated to: Teerth of Suman Indori
A Bar Song highlights letting one’s worries go away at a bar and just taking in the vibes of the place. At present, after Suman Indori’s leap, we found Teerth being dependent on alcohol to forget the pain of losing Suman and being a lifeless person in front of his family. He may not be directly having fun at bars, but the idea of having a drink to forget your worries applies well enough to Teerth Mittal.

Nominee: Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish
Dedicated to: Ranbir and Meghla of Iss Ishq Ka Rabb Rakha
This song celebrates finding someone with the same interests and values as you, and vowing to love them forever because, as they say, birds of a feather flock together. With a chain of unusual events, Ranbir and Meghla have finally united based on their shared values and we feel the song perfectly captures the love they both vow to have especially after surviving a lot in the start.

Nominee: Fortnight by Taylor Swift feat. Post Malone
Dedicated to: Mangal of Mangal Lakshmi
Fortnight is about a couple being separated and moving on. It also touches on having to see your ex- spouse with his new wife. This is the situation Mangal faces on the show, as she and Adit still live in the same house, and she has to deal with seeing Soumya there every day. The song also reflects on the love the couple once shared, and viewers clearly know that Mangal and Adit could have been quite the pair if only Adit understood her.

Nominee: Good Luck, Babe! by Chappell Roan
Dedicated to: Jhanak of Jhanak
This song talks about moving on and not caring about her partner not prioritising and being with her anymore. In the show, Anirudh is now married to Arshi, and it would be nice to see Jhanak showing less care for Anirudh and letting him realize the consequences of his own actions.

Nominee: Please Please Please by Sabrina Carpenter
Dedicated to: Lakshmi of Bhagya Lakshmi
This song deals with the constant thought of your partner leaving you when you least expect it and going to someone else. In Bhagya Lakshmi, the ‘someone else’ has always been Malishka in Lakshmi’s life. Even when Lakshmi wants to forgive Rishi and reunite with him, she has the constant thought of his ‘responsibilities’ towards Malishka and that she can lose him to her once again.

Nominee: Die With a Smile by Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars
Dedicated to: Rajat and Savi of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin
Savi and Rajat finally got their happy ending and have bid farewell to viewers in Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. They finally reached their point of happiness as a couple, and viewers can be rest assured that they won’t take anything for granted and love each other unconditionally. Whenever their end will come, they will likely be next to each other.

Nominee: Not Like Us by Kendrick Lamar
Dedicated to: Sachin of Udne Ki Aasha
Sachin has always been a standout male character of television and this song celebrates the very essence of being a strong man. It’s about having strong values and not being afraid. In an interview, Lamar also said its about accepting one’s flaws and that is very much part of Sachin Deshmukh’s journey so far.

Nominee: Texas Hold ‘Em by Beyonce
Dedicated to: Neeti of Parineetii
Texas Hold ‘Em is a popular poker game. The song talks about telling the one you love to put down their cards and come spend time with you. This applies to Neeti as the character has always wanted the attention of Sanju even after knowing it is Parineet who he truly loves.
