Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai continues to keep viewers engaged with its storyline and characters. We have seen how Abhira (Samridhii Shukla) has faced numerous hurdles in the Poddar household but also made some family members rethink certain norms.
At present, Armaan’s father, Madhav (Sandeep Rajora), wants to leave the house because he has had enough of the unfair treatment towards Abhira, which led to Abhira exiting the house. Abhira is living at her college hostel and faces some challenges with the hostel life, but remains headstrong and determined to complete her law degree.
While Armaan (Rohit Purohit) and Abhira have shown a lot of care for each other, Armaan has not been able to trust and support her whenever she faces insults from the Poddar family members. This has created distance between the two, along with the lack of clarity Armaan has with his feelings for Abhira. Not forgetting Roohi’s instigation now and then.
A recent promo of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai suggests a new twist and change in direction for Abhira and Armaan. The promo begins with the signature Generation 4 style of a shooting star shooting across the sky. Armaan asks Abhira what she wishes for, and Abhira replies that the last time the stars changed direction, their lives became intertwined. And while she did not understand the value and workings of a family, she got a big family thanks to him and said thank you. She then hands over divorce papers to Armaan.
While this comes as a shocking twist, it is also a pleasant surprise for viewers who appreciate Abhira’s stand for her self-respect and need for clarity in her relationships rather than sinking deeper into confusing relations and only facing pain for it. Viewers are now eager to see how Armaan will respond to the divorce.
Abhira has always been a progressive character, and Samridhii Shukla‘s portrayal makes the character all the more realistic and inspiring. A recent scene between Abhira and Sanjay (Armaan’s uncle) in the college also created a buzz as Abhira bravely stood against Sanjay’s bullying in the name of being an examiner.
Could this break Abhira and Armaan’s relationship or make them stronger if Armaan takes a stand for his feelings?
