As the world celebrates the auspicious occasion of Eid today, why don’t we reflect on an onscreen couple and show which added to the beautiful diversity of television and Indian culture? ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’ aired on Zee TV and featured Eisha Singh and Adnan Khan in the lead roles of Zara and Kabeer.
The story set in Lucknow, tells the story of Zara Siddiqui and Kabeer Ahmed. Both Zara and Kabeer were well-versed in the faith of Islam but differed in how they interpreted and related the teachings of Islam in daily life. It is through these differences that Kabeer and Zara got married and thus began their lives together.
While the two could not get along in the start, they slowly became the best of friends and companions and were able to demystify many misconceptions about the faith in society. They also faced many challenges from society and even close ones, however their love stood strong.
Ishq Subhan Allah was one of the top-performing shows overall and became an audience favourite in no time. The onscreen chemistry between Adnan Khan and Eisha Singh is still treasured by fans. The duo is referred to as #ZaBeer on social media.
