Shrimad Ramayan has been having a beautiful run on Sony TV and is one of the most popular and loved television shows. Produced by Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s Swastik Productions, the show stars Sujay Reu as Ram, Prachi Bansal as Sita, Basant Bhatt as Lakshman and Nirbhay Wadhwa as Hanuman.

The show is currently on the Sita Haran chapter and saw Ravan deceiving and abducting Sita. This has left Ram feeling broken and Lakshman feeling guilty for leaving her and going to search for Ram. The scenes where Ram cries in pain and discovers Sita’s fallen jewellery struck an emotional chord with the audience, and so did Lakshman’s cries of guilt. The moment when Ram had to encourage Lakshman to stop feeling guilty and help him search for Sita was quite an emotional one too. Along with this, the scene where Jatayu tries his best to save Sita, whom he considers his daughter, also left a mark on viewers’ hearts.
Sujay Reu is outstanding as Ram, portraying every aspect of him with such grace and bears so much innocence in his nuances. Basant Bhatt is another scene-stealer as he excels as Lakshman, and you cannot help but be in love with the brother duo. Prachi Bansal is another delight to watch as Sita as not only is she graceful, but the moment when she showed strength and fearlessness during her abduction was commendable. Nirbhay Wadhwa is so heartfelt as Hanuman, and we cannot wait for that first meeting between him and Sri Ram. Another actor setting new benchmarks is Nikitin Dheer as Ravan. Nikitin’s portrayal of Ravan is one of the best portrayals of a negative role we’ve seen in a while, and this portrayal will be remembered for years to come.
