While sharing the inspiration that led her to play a cop on screen, Sumati expresses,

“Playing a cop on screen is inspiring for me, drawing motivation from real stories of both male and female officers who have overcome challenges. Breaking away from conventional roles, I find strength in portraying diverse characters beyond the stereotypical heroine roles. The resilience and strength displayed by female cops in real life serve as a powerful inspiration for my on-screen portrayal.”

Sumati shares her experience, When asked about Mumbai Police and the sense of security while going home late at night; she says,

”Mumbai Police’s exceptional efforts contribute significantly to the city’s safety, creating an environment distinct from other metropolitan areas. Having lived in Delhi, I appreciate the stark contrast and the feeling of security Mumbai provides, even during late-night shoots and travels. The strict enforcement of rules and regulations, coupled with an active police presence, fosters a sense of safety and respect in public spaces. This contrast, especially concerning the safety of girls, makes me genuinely grateful for the remarkable job Mumbai Police does in maintaining order and ensuring the well-being of its residents.”

When asked if she has been in any situation where Mumbai Police helped her and made her feel safe, she says,

“Though I haven’t faced any troubling situations in Mumbai, my initial experiences in the city were made smoother by the helpful and genuine assistance of the Mumbai Police. Unlike my experiences in Delhi, where seeking directions often led to misinformation, asking the police in Mumbai, be it for directions or during my house search, was a positive and reassuring experience. The Mumbai Police’s selfless help, prioritizing assistance over personal gain, distinguishes them as a reliable and commendable force, making the city feel safe and welcoming.”

Sumati’s reflections on her on-screen role as a cop and her real-life interactions with the Mumbai Police reveal a deep appreciation for the dedication and service provided by law enforcement in creating a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all residents.
