2023 has certainly been a year filled with great television. Once again, shows presented many women who broke down stereotypes and won our hearts with their persona. While we appreciate every woman out there, here’s a look at 30 women who made an impact with their work on television for the year 2023!

Suhaagan is one of the most popular shows which debuted this year. Playing the role of Bindiya is Garima Kishnani, and she has excelled in her role of the innocent yet strong character. Garima’s power packed debut in Suhaagan will surely pave a bright future ahead!
29) Shagun Sharma
Shagun Sharma made her entry into Star Plus’s Yeh Hai Chahatein after its generation leap. Shagun plays the role of Kashvi, the daughter of Nayantara and Samrat. Shagun has made a place in viewers’ hearts and become a household name with her performance on the show.
28) Adrija Roy
Adrija Roy was seen in Colors’ Durga aur Charu during the year and despite its short run, people still remembered her. She made a grand comeback with Star Plus’s Imlie, as the show introduced the third generation. Stepping into the titular role of Imlie was no easy task but Adrija has succeeded in making the new Imlie so loved and appreciated.
27) Sargun Kaur Luthra
Sargun Kaur Luthra was seen portraying the roe of Nayantara in Yeh Hai Chahatein and fans could not stop sharing their love for her and her acting. Her chemistry with Abrar Qazi continued to be a highlight of the show. Sargun made an exit post a generation leap but her impact on the show will forever be remembered.

Mugdha Chaphekar is undoubtedly a fine actress, and she proved it yet again this year with her role of Prachi in Kumkum Bhagya. Mugdha effortlessly played the role of a wife and mother, and it shows her strength and versatility as an actor.
25) Anchal Sahu
Colors’ Parineetii continued with a great run this year, and its complex yet effective story won the hearts of viewers. Anchal Sahu amazed viewers in her role of Parineet, and fans got to see new shades of strength and her deep love for Rajeev. Her chemistry with Ankur Verma is also a major talking point.
24) Priyanshi Yadav
Star Plus’ Pandya Store continues to be one of the most popular shows and it took a generation leap this year. Taking the story forward was Natasha, played by Priyanshi Yadav. Priyanshi’s great performance and chemistry with Rohit Chandel is a major highlight for fans, and Priyanshi succeeds in portraying the strong and progressive Natasha Pandya.
23) Alice Kaushik
Alice Kaushik continued to wow the viewers this year with her role of Raavi in Pandya Store. Fans still treasure the moments of her on the show even after the generation leap, and her adorable chemistry with Kanwar Dhillon is a daily talking point among fans!
22) Sana Sayyad
This year saw the popular Kundali Bhagya taking a generation leap. Entering the show as the confident and caring Dr Palki was none other than Sana Sayyad! Sana managed to win over viewers of the show in no time and her chemistry with Paras Kalnawat is also a highlight of the show! It was great to see another strong heroine joining the ever-popular show!
21) Bhavika Sharma
Popular show ‘Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin’ took a generation leap in the year and Bhavika Sharma was seen in the lead role of Savi Virat Chavan. Since her entry, Bhavika has impressed the audience with her praise-worthy performance.
20) Samridhii Shukla
One of the rising actresses of our screens is Samridhii Shukla! The actress gave a fine performance as Saavi in Colors’ ‘Saavi Ki Savaari’. Despite the show wrapping up in August, viewers still remember her memorable character and performance. In a chat with us during the year, Samridhii shared that she had a beautiful journey on the show with so many learnings and memories. Samridhii then entered the ever popular ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ as Abhira, for the fourth generation of the show.
19) Sriti Jha
Sriti Jha continued to be one of the most loved personalities of television in 2023. The actress surprised viewers with her return to television in November with Zee TV’s ‘Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye,’ making her entry into 2023’s television scene just in time. The fine actress is receiving immense praise for her performance on the show.
18) Tina Datta
Tina Datta has been a popular name throughout the year, and she began the year in Bigg Boss 16. Viewers liked watching her and still recall her moments from the show. Tina made a magnificent return to fiction with Sony TV’s ‘Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum’. Playing the role of Surili, Tina wowed the viewers with her performance.
17) Shivangi Joshi
This year saw the return of Shivangi Joshi to the fictional space on television. She first appeared in a cameo for Ekta Kapoor’s new fantasy fiction ‘Bekaaboo’. Despite her short time as Devlekha, she wowed the viewers with her performance and a new mystical avatar. Later in the year, we got to see Shivangi as Aradhana in Sony’s ‘Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka’. Once again, she excelled in her role of the strong and capable journalist who falls in love unknowingly with a leading news channel owner.
16) Archana Gautam
Archana Gautam was seen in Bigg Boss 16, where she was a finalist, at the start of the year. She was also seen in ‘Entertainment Ki Raat Housefull’ on Colors. Following this, Archana participated in the 13th season of Khatron Ke Khiladi. In every show, Archana amused the viewers with her comedy and fun-filled personality!
15) Subha Rajput
‘Shiv Shakti – Tap Tyaag Tandav’ debuted on screens this year, and actress Subha Rajput has left the viewers in awe. Her performance in both her roles of Sati and Parvati, were praise-worthy and the purity and strength of her characters was evident through Subha’s dedication to the role.
14) Disha Parmar Vaidya
At the start of the year, Disha along with co-star Nakuul exited Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 which left many fans upset. Luckily for them, Disha Parmar and Nakuul Mehta returned for a third season of the iconic show. Disha’s performance of Dr Priya Sood was lauded by the audience, and she never failed to amaze the viewers’ episode after episode!
13) Aditi Dev Sharma
Aditi Dev Sharma amazed fans throughout the year in her role of Katha in Sony TV’s ‘Katha Ankahee’. Aditi continued to display her acting prowess and nailed her role of Katha. Her on-screen chemistry with co-star Adnan Khan was also a major talking point for fans all year round!
12) Himanshi Parashar
Teri Meri Doriyaann is having a great run on Star Plus since the start of the year. The show stars Himanshi Parashar in the lead role of Sahiba Kaur Monga, a strong and passionate artist. Himanshi’s performance shines in every episode, making her character even more compelling to watch!
11) Aishwarya Sharma
Aishwarya Sharma continued to be part of Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin where she played Pakhi, until May. Following her exit from the popular show, she entered the stunt-based reality show, Khatron Ke Khiladi 13, where she became a finalist. Aishwarya then entered the 17th season of Bigg Boss along with her husband Neil Bhatt.
10) Shraddha Arya
Kundali Bhagya is one of the most successful shows on television, and continues to grow. Shraddha Arya has been amazing viewers as Dr Preeta since the start, and in 2023, we got to see new sides to her character and performance. Playing a mother and a patient of amnesia showed her versatility once again. It seems there is nothing that Shraddha Arya cannot do!
9) Aishwarya Khare
Lakshmi from Bhagya Lakshmi continues to be one of the most favourite characters from television. Aishwarya Khare continued to excel in her role of Lakshmi, and gave the audience many applause-worthy moments on the show.
8) Rupali Ganguly
Rupali Ganguly continued her streak of amazing the audience as Anupama. On the show, Anupama faced many complicated situations and Rupali’s stellar performance was sure to be recognised. The character continues to resonate with the masses and Rupali continues to be one of the most successful actors who the world recognises.
7) Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia

2) Tejasswi Prakash
Tejasswi Prakash became one of the most love actresses who took on the role of a naagin. In 2023, she was seen in multiple roles on the 6th season of the show. With different and challenging tracks, Tejasswi continued to ace her roles, and shone with her acting. She also appeared on ‘Entertainment Ki Raat Housefull’ with her partner Karan Kundrra. 1) Sumbul Touqeer Khan
Sumbul Touqeer Khan- the name everyone knows by now! Sumbul kicked off the year in the Bigg Boss 16 house, where she won the audience’s hearts for being real and her playful self. She was also seen in Colors’ Entertainment Ki Raat Housefull, where she entertained viewers in her comedy mode. The actress returned to the fictional space with the titular role of Kavya in Sony TV’s ‘Kavya-Ek Jazbaa, Ek Junoon’. Sumbul’s performance was nothing short of impressive, and undoubtedly cements her place as one of the finest actors on our television screens!
