In a heartfelt tribute, actor Sheezan Khan shared his profound admiration for the iconic actor Matthew Perry, known for his portrayal of Chandler Bing in the beloved TV series “F.R.I.E.N.D.S” Sheezan opened up about the significant influence Matthew Perry had on his career.
Reflecting on his early days as an actor, Sheezan revealed,
“Back in 2012 when I had given my first audition, after that, it was a long break for me, and I started watching Friends. I used to watch Friends a lot and used to love Matthew Perry and his work. There’s a whole long list of my favorite Chandler Bing moments!! He has such amazing range as an actor.”
Sheezan’s admiration for Matthew extended beyond just watching “Friends.” He confessed to being deeply inspired by Perry’s performances and even having the actor’s photo as wallpaper on his phone.
“Before every audition, I used to see the wallpaper to get motivation to be like Matthew Perry,” Sheezan explained.
The passing of Matthew Perry deeply saddened Sheezan Khan, and he couldn’t help but recall a pivotal moment from the show.
“There’s this scene where Chandler proposes to Monica, where he portrayed the emotions so well. It’s not easy for an actor to go into that emotional zone but still be in that character, especially like the Chandler character because he was so quirky and sarcastic.”
The actor also admired Perry’s influence on the production of “Friends,” stating,
“He also used to give his inputs. In fact, the writers of the show used to ask Matthew Perry’s inputs if they didn’t find the scenes funny. That moved me as an actor that you are well aware of that character where writers are approaching you for inputs.”
