Imlie’s third generation is well underway, and in two weeks, the new cast and storyline have already been receiving love and appreciation from the audience. Playing the role of Agasthya Singh Chaudhary is Sai Ketan Rao, who is impressing viewers with this new avatar!
Agasthya is a very knowledgeable and capable businessman who aims to handle the family business of sweets to the best of his abilities. He faces opposition from his stepsister Sonali, as her views on business differ, and she compromises on ethics, unlike Agasthya. We also learnt so far that Agasthya is not accepted by his stepmother. However, he shares a great relationship with his grandmother Annapurna and other family members, including Jugnu-the house helper and his right-hand man. His clash with Imlie was not the best of moments, but it was filled with humour, and when he met her in her disguise of Noyonika, he was pretty impressed!
Sai Ketan Rao is excelling in the role of Agasthya Singh Chaudhary (you can call him August). While the character is sophisticated and suave, Sai breathes life into the role with his personal touch, making Agasthya easy to connect with and love. His scenes with Dadi, Manno bua and Jugnu each have their own lovable and signature style, while his clashes with Sonali are interesting to watch and have you rooting for Agasthya. Agasthya’s moments with Imlie are also scene-stealers, and we can’t wait to see how they fall in love and witness more moments of their chemistry. The recent promo suggests a contract marriage between the two, and we wonder how that will turn out!
It is great to see a large and charming character like Agasthya, and Sai Ketan Rao is nailing it as he goes along!
Imlie airs Monday to Sunday at 8:30 p.m. in India and South Africa, 10 p.m. on Utsav Plus in the UK and streams on Hulu in the US.
