The viewers get introduced to Kirti Shukla, a writer by profession. She is also a single mother to a son named Puru. Kirti and Puru leave their city of Bhopal, hoping for a new beginning and fresh opportunities in Panchgani. Kirti also wants to meet her college friend Anjali, who works at a school in the town. The owner of the school is the unusual hero of the story- Vikrant Deshmukh. Vikrant and Anjali are in a relationship, but he never wanted anyone to know about it. Vikrant proposes to Anjali for marriage, and afterwards, viewers find Anjali dead. It appears that Vikrant has done the murder because he does not like girls who try to control him like Anjali. It also seems like this is not the first such murder to have been commited by him. Kirti is unable to find Anjali and sets out for the truth. Through this, she meets Vikrant and learns how respected he is in the town. She also learns about his contribution towards society and towards her aunt, whom she now lives with. The journey forward from here will form the rest of the story.

In terms of performances, the cast shines by letting the viewers know more about their characters while maintaining the subtlety the genre demands. Yukti Kapoor delivers her role of Kirti with grace and vibrant energy, making her instantly likable. Mudit Nayyar excels in a challenging and dark character like Vikrant. The way Mudit delivers small gestures and the rest of Vikrant’s nuances makes Vikrant a pleasure to watch. Swati Tarar provides some humour as Kirti’s aunt and child actor Aan Tiwari (Puru) seems to have quite an accidental but pivotal part of this mystery.

Keh Doon Tumhein marks the return of thriller and mystery dramas to television, and it comes across as refreshing and up-to-date. With OTT content becoming saturated with thriller and suspense, Star Plus dares to experiment after a long time by blending the genre with drama and making it more watchable for a bigger audience.

Keh Doon Tumhein is worth a watch and airs Monday to Sunday on Star Plus at 11 p.m. in India and South Africa and at 10:30 p.m. on Utsav Plus in the UK. The show also streams on Hulu in the US.
