Imlie on Star Plus is one of the longest running and most successful shows on television. Produced by Gul Khan, the show has showcased two much loved generations and is now heading for the third. The channel has released the promo on all platforms today, and it looks promising!
In the promo, we see the new female protagonist speaking about fulfilling her dreams through a job at a bar, possibly quite notorious. At the same time, the male protagonist’s car breaks down outside the same bar, and he enters the premises. He appears to be a wealthy businessman. As the girl starts singing, he takes interest and finds out more about her. He discovers she is a new singer at the bar. When he sees her rejecting some money from someone, he assumes she may be wishing to receive much more. He offers her a job, promises more money, and then hands over his business card. We then discover his name-Agastya Upadhyay. The girl rejects his offer by stating that she may be poor but will not become someone’s slave. This line bears resemblance to the central messaging of both Sumbul Touqeer and Megha Chakraborty’s first promos of the show. At the end she reveals her name as Imlie.
The promo is refreshing to watch as there is nothing typical about it. Adrija Roy makes quite an impression as Imlie, with a unique look. Sai Ketan Rao‘s Agastya appears intense and a man who must have had quite a journey to the top. The actor’s appearance is unlike what we’ve seen in the past. He sports long hair in this role, and it has raised more curiosity among fans.
