Binaiferr Kohli and Sanjay Kohli are the power couple producer duo in the TV industry. With their successful hit shows like “Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai” and “Happu Ki Ultan Paltan” they have set a high benchmark in terms of comedy.
This is the 75th year of Independence. On being asked what independence day means to her she says,
“I am proud to be Indian. It feels great joy to be living in a free India. My husband’s side family has an army background. My father-in-law Major Ramesh Kohli lost his life for the country and my brother-in-law was also a Brigadier. I have observed army people’s life closely and I salute the Indian army as well as the freedom fighters”.
Binaiferr Kohli lives in the Deccan Co-operative Housing Society Ltd, located at Union Park in Khar which was occupied by its 111 members in 4 buildings in early 1980.
The Society celebrates all the religious functions, viz Holi, Ganpati, Diwali, Guru Nanak Jayanti and Christmas with all gusto and religious fervour. Independence Day and Republic Day are also celebrated with all its patriotic zeal.
This year for the celebration of Amrit Mahotsav, all the flats have displayed the National Flag and the Society has also rigged up flag poles on the front and back entrances of the Society and flags have been hoisted.
“This year during the flag hoisting ceremony family of respected ASI Tukaram Omble, the martyr of 26/11 was felicitated The band played National Anthem and other patriotic Songs. Our local corporator Swapna Mhatreji also attended the function, which was followed by lunch for all invitees, residents, and Society staff. Binaiferr says, “Our Society is the best. Everyone from different cultures lives in harmony. Our Gen Sec Mr. Luhadia & the team is always enthusiastic to celebrate all functions together. I love my neighbours & their spirit to celebrate this great day together”.
