Samir Onkar in Yeh Ristha Kya Kehlata Hai!
One of the longest running shows on the small screen, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai produced by Rajan Shahi will soon have a rather suave and stylish entry. Actor Samir Onkar will be entering the show as Samarth Goenka.
Divulging details about his character, Samir reveals, “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has got a new surprise character. Samarth hates the surname Goenka because of the things that have happened in past and he knows dark secrets of the family. He knows that Kartik and Naira are everyone’s favourites, no one wants to see them in any problems. So, I am here to make their lives worse. The character will start as grey but later on, you will get to see a lot of shades of Samarth. Rajan Shahi has given me my big break.”
Sounds gripping, right? Well! here is something else to look forward to as well. “The creative team and the costume department has worked really hard on the look. It is a dynamic look,” says the actor.
“I decided I wanted to become an actor right from childhood. I have done a lot of theater and just to refresh my acting skills, I also joined Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares, which was a full time acting three-month diploma course,” he says, adding, “I was working as a supervising producer on Rajan Shahi’s Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai. Being behind the scenes helped me a lot in acting as you get to learn a lot by watching actors. I learnt how to express, to understand what the director wants and how to perform well. You obviously learn a bit by watching films but the major craft is learnt by watching it live, as you get to know what mistakes the actor is making as well,” says Samir.
