First Ray Films’ Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business has moved its worldwide theatrical release from November 6, 2026, to early 2027, avoiding a potential box-office clash with Ramayana and allowing the makers to plan a more expansive release for the sequel.

The film, however, is keeping its Diwali-week promise to international audiences, with its World Premiere scheduled for November 7, 2026, at Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival in Belgium, where it has earned an Official Selection.

The decision reflects the makers’ ambition to give the sequel a larger theatrical window and build a more substantial release around the next chapter of the world’s first animal lover vigilante franchise. The film’s international journey will continue in November, with Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business also set to be presented at the American Film Market (AFM) as the team explores opportunities for a substantial North American release in 2027.

The Razor Reel Flanders selection marks a significant milestone for the franchise, positioning Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business as the first Indian action film to receive an Official Selection at the Belgian genre film festival. The World Premiere in Diwali week keeps the film’s international launch on track even as its worldwide theatrical release moves into the new year.

Meanwhile, the makers are bringing the story back to where it began. The first Lakadbaggha film will be re-released in select cinemas across India in November, giving audiences an opportunity to revisit the origin story of Arjun Bakshi and the birth of what the filmmakers envision as the world’s first animal-lover vigilante universe.

Commenting on the announcement, the producers at First Ray Films said, “We are thrilled to be premiering Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business during Diwali week in Belgium at Razor Reel Flanders. We are looking at a grander worldwide theatrical release in early 2027 for the sequel, giving the film the opportunity to reach audiences on a larger scale. In the meantime, we will be re-releasing Lakadbaggha Part 1 in select cinemas this November onwards, so audiences can revisit the birth story of our animal-lover vigilante franchise before Arjun Bakshi returns for his next adventure.”

With the first film returning to cinemas, the sequel heading to an international festival audience and conversations underway for a wider North American release, First Ray Films is using the coming months to build momentum for the next chapter of the franchise.

The mission continues this Diwali in Belgium. Arjun Bakshi returns to Indian cinemas in November through Part 1. And the next chapter of the animal-lover vigilante universe arrives worldwide in early 2027.
