Randeep Hooda is celebrating a major milestone in his career after winning the National Award for Best Debut Directorfor Swatantryaveer Savarkar.
The actor, who also co-wrote and starred in the biographical drama, expressed heartfelt gratitude following the prestigious honour, calling it a moment he is “still trying to process.”
Sharing his emotions, Randeep said that Swatantryaveer Savarkar demanded more from him than any project he has ever undertaken. He revealed that the film’s journey was filled with challenges at every stage, but the team remained determined and found the strength to overcome every obstacle. Reflecting on his multiple responsibilities as an actor, co-writer and first-time director, he said he poured everything into the film because he felt a deep responsibility to narrate Veer Savarkar’s story with sincerity and honesty.
The actor further stated that whatever struggles the team faced during the making of the film were insignificant compared to the hardships and sacrifices endured by Veer Savarkar himself. Randeep credited his entire team for believing in the vision and standing by the project through every high and low, adding that the recognition belongs to everyone who contributed to bringing the film to life.
Expressing his gratitude, Randeep said, “Being announced as the winner of the National Award for Best Debut Director for Swatantryaveer Savarkar is a moment I’m still trying to process.
