Kriti Kharbanda shared an emotional note on social media after watching Main Wapas Aaunga, expressing how deeply the film resonated with her and stirred memories of her late grandparents.

Reflecting on the emotions the film evoked, Kriti revealed that she was reminded of both her “daaddu” and “naanu.”
She wrote that while she remembers them every day, the film made her pause and think about the sacrifices made by previous generations. She reflected on how people often take the land they stand on for granted without realizing that someone may have left behind their entire world to reach it.
Addressing filmmaker Imtiaz Ali, Kriti wrote, “Aapki filmein aksar ghar jaisi lagti hain. Iss baar ghar nahi mila. Iss baar… ghar ki yaad mil gayi.” Her words beautifully captured how the film didn’t simply depict the idea of home—it awakened the longing for one.
Kriti further shared that watching Main Wapas Aaunga changed her understanding of what “home” truly means. “Shayad ghar sirf woh jagah nahi hoti jahan hum rehte hain. Kabhi kabhi ghar woh bhi hota hai jahan hum kabhi wapas nahi jaa paate,” she wrote, emphasizing that home can also be a place we carry in our memories but may never return to.
Calling the film’s impact far greater than its runtime, Kriti added that some stories don’t end when the screen goes dark they follow you home and stay with you.
She concluded her heartfelt note by thanking the makers for celebrating the ordinary individual as a hero, dedicating her gratitude to her own grandparents and countless others like them.
“Shukriya uss aam aadmi ko hero banane ke liye. Mere daaddu aur Naanuu aur unn jaise kai logon ko hero banane ke liye,” she wrote, ending her tribute with a heart emoji.
Kriti’s moving message has struck a chord with fans, highlighting the profound emotional impact Main Wapas Aaunga has had on audiences.
