Actor Shweta Tripathi is looking back at her theatre journey, sharing how the stage and the people she met along the way have played a defining role in her life and career.

Speaking about her early days in theatre, Shweta recalled working in backstage production before stepping into performance. It was during this time that she met actor Ali Fazal for the first time on stage at Thespo, a platform she describes as a significant milestone in her journey.
Thespo also became instrumental in shaping her creative ecosystem. Shweta shared that her theatre company, AllMyTea, was formed because of the people and experiences she gathered there. Individuals like Akarsh, who she met during this phase, went on to play an important role in building and supporting the company.
Her association with Thespo deepened when her play Cock was selected for the festival and later staged at the prestigious Prithvi Theatre Festival. Through her theatre journey, she witnessed actors like Nimrat Kaur and Neil Bhoopalam perform on stage for the very first time at Prithvi Theatre. Today, she feels a sense of pride in seeing artists like them grow together as a close-knit creative community within the industry.
Having started performing as early as kindergarten and spending her summers attending theatre workshops, she was introduced to the magic of the stage at a very young age. One of her earliest memories is watching Yashpal Sharma perform live, an actor she would later share screen space with in Kaalkoot. Shweta credits theatre for shaping not only her craft, but also her personality. “I genuinely feel theatre has shaped who I am, not just as an actor, but as a person. It taught me discipline, empathy, and the ability to truly connect. I love it deeply, I respect it immensely, and it continues to excite me, whether I experience it as an actor, a producer, or simply as an audience member.”
For Shweta, the stage is not just where it all began; it remains a space she constantly returns to, one that brings with it a sense of comfort, belonging, and discovery every single time.
