The world of Bandar continues to grow more gripping and intriguing with every new reveal. Starring Bobby Deol, helmed by Anurag Kashyap, and produced by Nukhil Dwivedi, the film has quickly become one of the most eagerly awaited releases among movie lovers. After generating significant excitement with its earlier promotional assets, the newly released trailer delves deeper into its intense narrative, offering a glimpse of shocking twists, impactful dialogues, standout performances, and moments of dark humor.

As excitement around Bandar continues to grow, producer Nikhil Dwivedi shared interesting behind-the-scenes stories from the film’s shoot. Speaking about the challenging conditions on Anurag Kashyap’s sets, the extensive jail schedule, and Bobby Deol’s dedication to his role, Nikhil revealed how the actor fully embraced the demanding environment and blended seamlessly with the rest of the cast, putting authenticity above comfort throughout the filming process.

Speaking about the realities of filmmaking and the absence of comfort on an Anurag Kashyap set, Nikhil Dwivedi shared, “An actor’s life changes a little with success, and naturally, a certain level of luxury becomes a part of it. But a film shoot isn’t always luxurious, especially when you’re not singing songs in Switzerland, and certainly not in an Anurag Kashyap film, where luxury is practically non-existent.

Recalling the extensive jail schedule and Bobby Deol’s commitment to authenticity, Nikhil revealed, “Bobby Deol would arrive on set every morning at 7 AM without fail. We were shooting on a jail set that housed nearly 100 prisoners. Anurag had cast theatre actors even for the smallest roles, so almost all of the 115 inmates in the jail were trained theatre performers. The jail schedule itself lasted for nearly 20 days. All these actors would be packed into a single room, lying on top of one another to create the authenticity of a crowded prison. Sometimes Bobby would have someone’s foot on his cheek, sometimes on his stomach. In the beginning, the other actors were understandably hesitant because Bobby Deol was on set. They would try to keep their distance and remain careful around him.

He further shared how Anurag Kashyap stepped in to ensure complete realism in the scenes, which eventually helped break the ice between Bobby and the rest of the cast. Nikhil recounted, One day, Anurag scolded everyone and said, “It doesn’t look like you’re in jail at all. Why is everyone so stiff and uncomfortable?” After that, they loosened up, and soon they became friends with Bobby. From that point on, it never felt like “Bobby the star” was walking onto the set. He was simply one of them. In fact, Bobby would rarely go back to his vanity van. He would stay on set throughout the day.

Bandar presents Bobby Deol in an entirely different avatar. He plays Sameer Mehra, a once-celebrated pop sensation whose life begins to unravel after he is accused of sexual assault. The intense crime thriller follows his battle through a gripping courtroom drama and relentless media scrutiny, as he fights to prove his innocence while navigating a complex and imperfect justice system.

Bandar is written by Sudip Sharma and Abhishek Banerjee, the acclaimed duo behind Paatal Lok, Kohra, and Udta Punjab. Directed by Anurag Kashyap, Produced by Nikhil Dwivedi’s Saffron Magicworks and backed by Zee Studios, Bandar releases in cinemas worldwide on 5th June 2026.
