Actress Ankita Lokhande recently attended the premiere of Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directorial ‘Heeramandi’ with her husband Vicky Jain. The actress shared a picture with Sanjay Leela Bhansali on her social media. She wrote about how she was in “total awe” of the filmmaker’s grand vision.
“The way he presents women in his film is a masterclass to every filmmaker out there on how to use actresses’ strengths as an addition to the narrative. I personally am a big fan of Sanjay sir’s work and to witness his majestic masterpiece, that moment was totally worth it. Every frame is grand, every character leaves an impression. Every actress is dream-like! I can’t wait for you all to witness this maestro’s #Heeramandi on Netflix on May 1st,” she wrote as the caption of the post.
Ever since Ankita shared the post, her fans have been commenting about how they want to see the actress in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali world.
The filmmaker is known for his grand sets and for presenting his actresses in their most beautiful avatars, and interestingly. Ankita has been portraying larger-than-life personalities on screen.
Her portrayal in ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ and the recently release ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ received critical acclaim. In which has led her to sign yet another period-drama ‘Amrapali’. And all these projects prove how she is a perfect fit for a Bhansali film!
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ankita is gearing up to play royal courtesan Amrapali in Sandeep Singh’s production venture.
“I will be portraying a beautiful woman who had many admirers,” she had said in a recent interview. Legendary Ismail Darbar is composing music for this film on the glamorous nagarvadhu.
