In a world where we often look outside for answers, a new campaign called #WITHIN is reminding us that our true reflection and voice lie within ourselves. Led by Sunita, a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist with over 25 years of experience, this campaign is a call to action to safeguard the mental well-being of children and young people, who are sadly still the targets of grave crimes such as neglect, emotional, and physical abuse.

Sunita’s journey in helping children and young people has exposed her to the harsh realities of trauma that many of us only associate with the silver screen – child trafficking, modern-day slavery, drug abuse, suicide, and self-harm, to name just a few. In an era of advanced awareness and progress, the question arises: why are our children and young people still falling prey to these horrors?
The #WITHIN Campaign
As we prepare to hang up our dandiya sticks and count down to the joyous festival of Diwali, the #WITHIN campaign invites us to find the goddess within ourselves, to reconnect with our inner strength and self-belief. More importantly, it’s a rallying cry to support the mental health of all children and young people, encouraging them to cherish their true selves.
This Diwali, let’s take a moment to rest and reflect, and in doing so, let our children and young people know that we are here for them. We stand ready to support them on their journey towards self-acceptance, growth, and empowerment. The #WITHIN campaign is a beacon of hope, promoting a message of resilience, self-love, and optimism.
Sunita and her team invite everyone to join this important movement by using the hashtag #within in conjunction with the upcoming Diwali celebrations. By sharing this hashtag and its associated image, we can collectively send the message that we are committed to supporting the mental health of children and young people everywhere.
