The much-awaited Nitesh Tiwari directorial ‘Bawaal‘ was released just a few days ago and has already received a lot of love and appreciation. Realistic Characters
Varun Dhawan plays Ajay Dixit, aka Ajju bhai. Ajay feels he is not capable of much, and so over the years, he created a superior image of himself to compensate for this feeling of lacking. He is a history teacher and shows no passion towards his work. Janhvi Kapoor, on the other hand, plays Nisha, a smart and independent girl with a history of epilepsy. Due to this health condition, she has been confined to her home by Ajit as he feels if she suffers a seizure in public, it will hurt his image. These characters are quite relatable as somewhere deep, many experience insecurities and attempt to cover it all up. Nisha also represents someone who always tried to see the good in her situation despite having an unsupportive husband. This characteristic could be one of the reasons why she sacrificed her independence all these years.

When you watch the film, you will witness how Ajay and Nisha end up touring through Europe and learning many things about World War II, which will shock the viewers just as much as it shocked Ajay and Nisha. This journey of history gives the film an educational and insightful angle too.

Mithoon, Tanishk Bagchi and Akashdeep Sengupta have done a sterling job with the soundtrack of Bawaal. The songs beautifully captured moments in the film. Dil Se Dil Tak and Tumhe Kitna Pyaar Karte will leave a deeper mark on viewers’ hearts after hearing them in the movie.

Bawaal marks the first time Varun and Janhvi have been paired, and given the many contrasting layers in their characters, they make quite an impression as a couple on-screen. Performances
Varun Dhawan has quite the filmography since Student of The Year, but in terms of performance, his role of Ajay in Bawaal is one of the shining roles at the top. Varun was able to effortlessly present every layer of Ajay (Ajju) by getting deep into every nuance of the character. Janhvi carries Nisha with grace and well executes the sensitivities in her character. In addition, Manoj Pahwa and Anjuman Saxena shine as Ajay’s sweet and sometimes humorous parents!
