Director Kushan Nandy is back in the news as his film Jogira Sara Ra Ra is all set to release in theatres on 26th May. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Neha Sharma, Sanjay Mishra, Zarina Wahab and Mimoh Chakraborty in some very interesting roles. Kushan, whose career has gone from television to films, had a long journey with various obstacles. But he has sailed through with his determination and the support of his family. Kushan is the only son of noted filmmakers, Pritish Nandy & Rina Mumtaz. He speaks about his strength and support in his life.
He says,
“My parents had divorced when I was a year old and my mom single-handedly brought me up. She has been my pillar of strength. She has been my inspiration and the sole reason for where I am and who I am. Whatever I am is thanks to her. I also feel there are a lot of sacrifices that she has made all her life and I’m indebted to her and I think it’s something that I can never repay. Apart from my mother, there is a large battalion of women who are my support system. I get along more with women than men and I think that they make me who I am. I love the company of women. I think they are much more compassionate, nicer people, more giving, and they can be best pals, best friends. My wife, Sanjukta, a writer by profession, has made a lot of sacrifices to ensure where I am today, despite having her own career and her own aims, her own goals in life. Apart from that, my best friend Kiran Shroff who is also the producer of my films, and my partner in crime, my friend, philosopher, and guide. She has been there with me for the longest time. And yes, I think without both of them my journey is incomplete. And apart from these three, there are many, many more who contribute to where I am and inspire me to work every day.”
After Jogira Sara Ra Ra, Nandy’s next would be Kun Faya Kun starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sanjeeda Shaikh.
