It is a great time for female actors in Bollywood. It’s just not the volume and range of films centred on female protagonists being made but there is also a shift in consciousness that a leading lady can helm a film on her shoulder.
Alia Bhatt and Kiara Advani are the two leading ladies who come to mind when we speak about young actresses who have overwhelmed the audiences and even impressed at the box-office alike in the recent months.
The movement started by Bhatt and Advani is also being led forward by another young actress who is already a favourite with Gen Z Sanya Malhotra.

With all the three films—Jawan with Shah Rukh Khan, Sam Bahadur opposite Vicky Kaushal and Kathal with Rajpal Yadav. It slated to release this year, Malhotra will be one of the busiest leading ladies.
Various filmmakers including Anurag Basu have sung praises on how her girl-next-door personality and her dedication to her craft makes her one of the most sought after names in Hindi cinema today.
