‘Chup’ maker R Balki says, “Don’t Stay Chup”

Just three days to the release of the much-anticipated psychological thriller Chup. It already marks some never-like-before initiatives to unite the critics and the film fraternity under one roof.

The film’s public free-screening was hosted recently which gained massive response. From several sources including the public, critics and the B-Town celebs. 

After seeking responses from the audiences, the cast of the film. It is looking forward to host an unusually interesting union of the film critics and the industry under one roof.

 

The screening is to be preceded by a discussion between all the members to seek their viewpoints on constructive criticism concerning films. It is followed by the screening of Chup that will allow the invitees to provide their perspectives.

Filmmaker R Balki is so confident that he has opened the film to the public 3 days. Before and 2 days prior to the critics which no other has done before. There is no embargo on the audience and the critic reviews.

The initiative is a conscious effort towards building a wholesome practice of constructive criticism and ruling out bashing narratives on content.

 

The discussion shall present the sides of the story of the artist vs critics conflict. The challenges faced by both and how both get impacted in their line of work.

 

Many big names are expected to join the conversation between filmmakers and critics.

Director R Balki is an unconventional director who has a strong sense of empathy for the artist fraternity. An atypical move from the director will surely induce a sense of empowerment in all the artists of the industry.

The film is set to release on September 23 and headlines a power-packed cast. Including Sunny Deol, Dulquer Salmaan the South Cinema Superstar, Shreya Dhanwanthary.

 

The one who made a mark for herself with Scam: 1992, and Pooja Bhatt, who recently made a massive comeback with Bombay Begums.

 

The movie is directed by R Balki and produced by Hope Productions and Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.

 

The film is written by R Balki himself based on the story he started working on a few years ago.

 

The screenplay and dialogues have been co-written by R Balki, critic-turned-writer Raja Sen and Rishi Virmani.

The film is set to release on 23rd September 2022.
