Kajal Aggarwal made her Bollywood debut with the film Kyun! Ho Gya Na in 2004. Since then the actress has made some notable appearances in films like Singham and Special 26.
Now we hear that Kajal Aggarwal is going to play John Abraham’s love interest in the film Mumbai Saga. Sanjay Gupta is going to direct the gangster drama.
John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi began the shoot yesterday i.e. on 27th August, 2019, at the Mahalaxmi Temple in Mumbai. Confrontation scenes were shot between the rivals and the gangster parties.
Kajal Aggarwal will join the team on August 28. Sanjay Gupta said that his gangster films often have strong female characters.
Kajal’s character starts as John’s girlfriend who eventually becomes his wife. So, Sanjay wanted someone who could play a 17 year old college girl, a young wife and then a woman in her 30s.
He has admired Kajal Aggarwal’s work, her strong screen presence and is glad they are collaborating.
Sanjay Gupta also reveals that John Abraham was always on board for the film. He feels Emraan Hashmi was the perfect choice for the role since he and John compliment each other.
They will shoot the film in a start to finish schedule till September in Mumbai itself. Only the climax won’t be shot in Mumbai as it requires air strips for the sequences.
Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series is going to produce Sanjay Gupta’s Mumbai Saga. The film is set in the 1980s-1990s period, it stars John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi, Kajal Aggarwal, Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Rohit Roy, and Amole Gupte. It will release in 2020.
