Vicky Kaushal’s last URI: The Surgical Strike got a lot of appreciation from fans as well as from the critics. The actor is known for getting into the skin of the character.
We now hear that one of Vicky Kaushal’s film will go on floors in 2021. It is none other than Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw biopic. The film has got a title Sam and first look of the film is already out.
Sam Manekshaw was the Chief of Army Staff of Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Sam’s military career spanned four decades and five wars.
Sam brings Meghna Gulzar and Vicky together after their successful collaboration Raazi. Raazi was also a film which was patriotic. It also had Alia Bhatt in the lead role.
Vicky has said that he personally could not witness the achievements of Field Marshal Manekshaw. Although his parents would tell stories about him and what a fearless leader he was.
Apart from this biopic Vicky has a lot of films on his plate. These include Karan Johar’s magnum opus Takht where he plays Aurangazeb. He is a part of another Karn Johar horror film, BHOOT-Part One The Haunted Ship. He’s also a part of another biopic on Sardar Udham Singh.
Bhavani Iyer of Raazi and Shantanu Srivastava of Badhaai Ho will write the biopic Sam. Ronnie Screwvala will produce the film.
