Vidya Balan, who has sizzled as Silk in the Dirty Picture, a biographical musical drama based on the life of South Indian actress, Silk Smitha, was noted for her erotic roles. And now we hear that she was the first choice for the biopic being made on Jayalalitha.
The news we know now is that Kangana Ranaut will feature in the film in place of Vidya Balan. And the reason why is unbelievable!
Apparently, Vidya was dropped from the film for ‘asking too many questions.’
A source closely connected to the project said:
“As Vidya became increasingly questioning about her role the producers got uncomfortable with her inquisitiveness. They probably had no answers at that point of time.”
Seems like an actress who is a little too curious about her character and asking questions is considered a nuisance in the industry.
Kangana was bought onboard with the recommendation of writer Vijayendra Prasad who worked with her in Manikarnika. While it is rumored that Vidya quit due to lack of information, writer Vijayendra Prasad says he is holding nothing back regarding the colorful life of Jayalalitha.
On the work front, Vidya is currently busy shooting for Mission Mangal with Akshay Kumar. Kangana, on the other hand, will soon be seen in Mental Hai Kya opposite Rajkummar Rao.
