Delhi Girl Monica Chaudhary Debuts With Apharan. Born and brought up in Delhi, theatre actor Monica Chaudhary is debuting with Alt Balaji’s new web-series Apharan. She plays Anusha, the daughter of a business tycoon. Her role is that of a girl who is under confident who has not seen the outside world because of her father’s overprotective nature.

Her father is a business tycoon who owns three sugar mills and is always paranoid that his daughter will get kidnapped. Tired of all this she herself gets involved in a plan of her kidnapping along with Arunodoy Singh and Mahi Gill.” Speaking on the whole experience of shooting which took place in Rishikesh and Haridwar Monica says,” it was a great learning experience and I also enjoyed every bit of it. This is my debut in digital space. Before this I have done a popular commercial campaign, this is my first brush with acting in front of the camera. Our director Siddharth Sengupta is a pleasure to work with.

He has almost adopted me! My co-actor Arunodoy Singh was wonderful to work with and never missed an opportunity to encourage me and make feel good about my work. Also, Varun Badola who is acting in the show and has also written the dialogues in the series helped me with the local dialect. Nidhi Singh, am a big fan of her’s since Permanent Roommates, was just amazing and now are really good friends.

With Mahi Gill, I have only one scene but she also has a very endearing personality.” Speaking on the format of web series and the bold content Monica say s,”Freedom of making what you want is always a good thing and it should always be the personal choice of directors, writers as well as the actors as to what they choose to do. It has become a popular medium because it provides a platform for almost anyone to showcase their creation. I am happy and fortunate be a part of this. Looking forward and hopeful to get more such projects .”
