The movie is based on the income tax raid of Congress MLA Sardar Inder, from Kanpur on 16 July 1981. 90 experienced Income Tax officers, under the leadership of the then Income Tax Commissioner of Lucknow, Sharda Prasad Pandey, carried out this raid.

2. It is the longest raid conducted in Independent India

The raid on which the movie is based went on for more than 18 hours. 45 people were present, just for the counting of the notes.

85 year old, Pushpa Joshi from Lucknow makes her debut with Raid. She will be seen essaying the role of Saurabh Shukla‘s mother in the film

As of now, two songs that were originally sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan are a part of Raid. Nusrat’s nephew Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has sung the new versions featuring Ajay and Ileana have been released.

The first song Sanu Ek Pal, beautifully captures the emotions of Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz’s characters. Their chemistry is remarkable throughout the song.

The next song Nit Khair Manga offers a glimpse into the onscreen couple’s life. The song has been shot across Lucknow including locations such as Hussainabad Clock Tower, Rumi Darwaza, Bada Imambada, Kudiya Ghat and Residency.
