Leading singers of Bollywood – Armaan Malik, Harshdeep Kaur, Salim-Sulaiman, Sukriti Kakkar and Akriti Kakkar are all set to join Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Lalkar’. The concert is one of the most comprehensive effort at fighting and ending gender violence.
Besides these singers, many Bollywood celebrities too are expected to grace the occasion. This is part of the ‘Bas Ab Bahut Ho Gaya (Enough is Enough!)’ campaign. The campaign was initiated by the Population Foundation of India (PFI), well-known director Feroz Abbas Khan and Farhan Akhtar’s MARD (Men Against Rape and Discrimination).
Poonam Muttreja, Executive Director, Population Foundation of India (PFI) adds,
“For a very long time, we have been talking about violence against women and making policies and laws to prevent it. Though this was essential, now its high time to execute those as well. And now we have India’s finest singers on-board to take this message to the youth.”
The Lalkar concert will be held on November 21st, 2017 at the Bandra Amphitheatre in Mumbai. The entry is open to all.
