Bhumi Pednekar talks about fat shaming and body shaming

Bhumi Pednekar, who is seen in this week’s release Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, recently opened up about her weight gain during Dum Laga Ke Haisha.

She said, “I did not face any kind of fat shaming for my weight gain in Dum Laga Ke Haisha. I was surprised. I was standing against fat shaming and body shaming. So, I think ethically or morally, who trolls ki insaaniyat jaagi hogi, they must have realized how stupid body shaming is.”

She further added, “I am very proud of it. I don’t think today an actress needs to be a certain kind to make it big on the silver screen. Today you are playing characters and it’s becoming like Hollywood, where actresses metamorphose themselves with every role. I might get flak for it also if I am 4-5 kgs more than I am currently. But if I think it is okay for my character, I am going to do it. Some people might not like it. As far as it is not vulgar, it is okay.”
