‘1921’ commenced shooting in the UK May 18th onwards. This time around the film from Vikram Bhatt, is a story about love and fear. The film was recently in the news with the announcement of Zareen Khan headlining the cast. As the film begins rolling she is joined by one of the most popular romantic heroes of Indian television industry, Karan Kundra as the male lead.

The film is a completely new venture, after Vikram’s numerous successful outings in similar genre films like the ‘Raaz’ series, ‘Haunted 3D’, ‘1920’ franchise amongst others. Like the ‘1920’ series, ‘1921’ also has a very a strong romantic and emotional premise between the lead pair – a love story amidst an ensuing scare fest. While there is similarity in emotion the difference is in the scale up on all counts. A very high quality product with bigger production values, music, an incredible story line, huge scale of shoot, the horror quotient, technology etc. are the constituents being used to give the film that beautiful haunting Victorian, classic look.
‘1921’, while being a feast for all ‘1920’ fans, is also certain to add and attract a bigger and newer audience given this incredible bump up in scale on various counts, from where the other franchise signed off.
Vikram Bhatt is one of the most popular directors in Bollywood in the horror genre. On the occasion of the first day of shoot Vikram said,
“The point is to just not scare but to make the audience feel for the characters that and want them protected. ‘1921’ is a film that goes beyond the genre. Why can’t the villain of a great love be a great evil?”
The film revolves around the lead cast dealing with their dark pasts and secrets to secure their present and future.
