Tubelight Exclusive: Army Trains Actors

An important part of Salman Khan starrer ‘Tubelight’ showcases the Indian Army in the 60s – with Sohail Khan’s character being an army officer. Most army portions were shot in Ladakh.

600 actors were cast to play army personnel in the film. Rather than resort to acting coaches, Kabir Khan came up with the novel idea of asking the The Indian Army to train these actors. The Army officials readily agreed and organized a boot-camp for a few weeks to make them look like real soldiers. By the end of the training all the actors were completely transformed to look like real-life soldiers, right from their body language to holding weapons.

Tubelight’ is produced by Salma Khan and Salman Khan and directed by Kabir Khan. It stars Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Zhu Zhu. It is co-produced by Amar Butala. The executive producer is Rajan Kapoor, the associate producer is Garima Mehta and music is by Pritam. The movie is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on Eid 2017.

Tubelight’ trailer is out on 25th May, 2017. Let the countdown begin! 😉
