South Asian singer Talwiinder has dropped a glimpse of his newest single ‘Assay Passay’ from his upcoming EP ‘Paiinted Feeliings’. For the singer, the EP represents spaces around us and we can be shaped by them without even realizing it.

For Talwiinder, the song explores how the people we spend time with can slowly mould the way we speak, behave, think and even see ourselves. We spoke with the singer about the creation of ‘Assay Passay’ and the entire EP.
- How did you come up with the name Assay Passay for the song?
It just came to my mind the moment we started creating the track, I had a rough idea that I wanted to talk about how much a person’s surroundings can change the way he or she thinks or make decisions in their life. Assay Passay is first thing that came to my mind.
- What feeling are you hoping listeners take away from the EP once they hear it?
New way of looking at situations in life and how important communication and your surroundings are. There’s 2 more tracks left from the EP which will make you travel back in time if you just close your eyes and feel the music.
- Did you draw from any real life lessons or stories for the song and EP?
All of it is from my real life lessons and whatever I can remember from others around me I usually like to take that into perspective as well. I wrote the whole EP and there’s nothing said thats not real. There’s surprise for my miisfiits once the EP is out.
- Your audience knows how bring feelings and emotions to your songs. What is different about Assay Passay and the entire EP?
Assay passay is my way of describing the impact of our surroundings, and other tracks will cover different part of life. The lyrics are simple yet effective and abstract enough where it will hit home for a lot of my listeners.
