Indo Warehouse is back with a new single, and this one is built for the dancefloor’s long game rather than a quick scroll-stopping moment. “Activate,” which released on August 28 and featuring South Asian duo Anvaya, is the latest chapter in the Brooklyn-born collective’s ongoing mission to carve out its own corner of electronic music.
What “Activate” Sounds Like
Clocking in at 6 minutes and 37 seconds, “Activate” takes its time. The track layers a heavy kick, deep low end, and hand percussion underneath Anvaya’s vocal work, which shifts between chant-like invocation and full hook territory. Instead of building to one massive drop, the song unfolds in waves — percussion piles up, vocal breaks reset the energy, and filtered transitions pull the groove back in with more force each time.
It’s a structure clearly made with real club sets and extended DJ mixes in mind, at a time when a lot of electronic music is edited down for short-form platforms.
Why This Track Matters for Indo House
Indo Warehouse has spent the last few years blending South Asian instrumentation with deep house and melodic techno under the banner of “Indo House.” On earlier releases, that fusion was often the headline. With “Activate,” the South Asian musical foundation feels less like a stylistic flourish and more like the actual rhythmic engine of the song.

That shift matters for how the genre gets talked about going forward. Rather than being framed as a crossover act translating one sound for another audience, Indo Warehouse is positioning itself as a project with its own established musical vocabulary — one other South Asian-led dance acts can point to as the genre keeps growing.
Meet Anvaya

Anvaya is the producer-DJ pairing of Kaushal and Sonia, known for blending Sonia’s live vocals with DJing and live synth work. The duo has played major stages including Coachella, Sunburn Festival, Brooklyn Mirage, ADE, and London’s Roundhouse, and their sets have shown up on Diplo’s Revolution show on SiriusXM as well as BBC Radio 1’s Indo Warehouse mixes. Their atmospheric style makes them a natural fit for a track that leans into tension and release rather than instant payoff.
Catch Indo Warehouse on the Spice Trade Tour
Indo Warehouse isn’t slowing down after this release. The collective is currently on its “Spice Trade” tour, a 22-city run through North America and Europe that started June 28 and continues through December 3, 2026. It’s a solid opportunity for fans to hear “Activate” the way it was intended — inside a full-length set on a real club system.
The Bigger Picture
Founded in New York in 2022 by Kahani and Kunal Merchant, Indo Warehouse has released more than 50 tracks from over 25 artists as it builds out the Indo House sound. “Activate” reads as a milestone moment for the label: proof that a South Asian-rooted dance project can move past explaining its influences and start defining a genre on its own terms.
“Activate” is streaming now on all major platforms.
