Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s Bohurupi: The Golden Daku makes history as advance bookings open in the USA two months ahead of release

In a significant milestone for the Bengali cinema and Windows Production, advance bookings for the much-awaited high-octane action-thriller, Bohurupi: The Golden Daku has now opened in the USA, two months ahead of its theatrical release.

 

As part of an initiative by the International Film Association of Connecticut (IFAC), Bohurupi: The Golden Daku will be screened in Boston on November 15 and Connecticut on November 22, bringing the much-anticipated film to Bengali audiences overseas.

Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee shared in a joint statement,

“Advance bookings for “Bohurupi: The Golden Daku” are now open in the USA! The International Film Association of Connecticut (IFAC), as part of their initiative, will be screening Bohurupi: The Golden Daku in Boston on November 15 and Connecticut on November 22. For the first time in our careers, advance bookings for a Bengali film have opened internationally two months ahead of its theatrical release—a truly special milestone for us.”

The development adds another exciting chapter to the journey of Bohurupi: The Golden Daku, which expands the Bohurupi universe on a bigger and more ambitious canvas. The film sees Shiboprosad Mukherjee in the role of a notorious dacoit, with Jisshu Sengupta joining the world as a formidable cop, setting the stage for an intense face-off. Sohini Sarkar also returns as the much-loved Jhimli, whose journey takes on several new shades in the upcoming film.

With the USA becoming an early destination for the film’s advance booking journey, Bohurupi: The Golden Daku is already taking Bengali storytelling to audiences beyond India.
