Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna who is well known for his role of Shaktimaan across generations, has once again won hearts with his latest release of Sanskrit shlokas of Shiv Tandav Stotram translated to hindi. The song released in Hindi has won the hearts of all those who saw it and for many of them, it could be the one of the best hindi translations of this great shloka. The song was released during an exclusive media event held in Mumbai where the artist surprised everybody with the song as second surprise launch revealed by the actor and singer Shaan, along with a patriotic track Aao Bachon.
The event started off with the launching of Aao Bachon which is a tribute to the unknown Indian freedom fighters. After that, Mukesh Khanna announced that there is a second surprise release waiting for them. That surprise was none other than Shiv Tandav where Mukesh Khanna played multiple roles, starred in the video along with singing the track himself.
The music has been done by Navin Sharma, who arranged the music in such a way that it carries both devotional as well as cinematic feel. For video visuals, the AI assisted studio work has been done by Blisz Entertainment, Vijay Bhanushali.
Speaking about the inspiration of this song, Mukesh Khanna mentioned that Shiv Tandav Stotram is one of those hymns which we have heard many times but we have never understood because it is composed in classical Sanskrit. His objective was simple; making the meaning of this hymn available to every Indian and make sure that even a common person is able to understand the meaning of this hymn and not just rhythm. This organic thought that came from the childhood memory of his father reciting this shloka was finally transformed to this Hindi version.
Shaan was also present with Mukesh Khanna for the entire event and he was the one who launched the song with him to the media. He supported both of their releases and said that it is indeed a rare and iconic effort.
After being live, the song has become an internet sensation where people have appreciated Mukesh Khanna’s voice and how beautifully he translated the song into Hindi. People have also praised the emotional content of the video as the song gave them goosebumps and for the first time, they were able to understand the hymn.
The people behind the entire project are hinting towards the fact that they are making an effort to revive the interest in cultural and spiritual heritage of our country through music.
